Music Ministry

We have such a great privilege to come together as one body and sing praises. Here at FBC, we believe strongly that worship needs to involve each member of our family. You will find the hymns of our faith that have stood the test of time and the songs of today that are shaping our children. All music is praiseworthy if it is done in a way that is honoring to God and God alone. We offer many ways to serve in the musical aspects of the 10:30am Sunday service.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is designed for all college and adult singers. This choir rehearses weekly on Wednesdays at 7:00pm in the sanctuary, preparing to lead the congregation in our Sunday 10:30am worship service. Vocalists meet in the choir room 15 minutes before the start of service for final preparation.

Orchestra

Our orchestra is designed for all our instrumentals. The orchestra rehearses weekly on Wednesdays at 6:00pm in the sanctuary in preparation for the Sunday morning worship service. Instrumentalists meet in the sanctuary at 8:15am on Sunday for a final rehearsal for the 10:30am service.

Praise and Worship Band

Our Praise and Worship Band is a contemporary blend of musicians and vocalists. The band meets weekly on Wednesdays at 8:00pm in the sanctuary to prepare music for the Sunday morning worship service. Band members meet in the sanctuary at 8:15am on Sunday for a final practice for the 10:30am service.

What is expected of the participants in the music program?

1. A willing heart.
2. Attendance at regular Sunday morning and Wednesday evening rehearsals.
3. Have fun!

Is childcare available during rehearsals?

Yes, for birth through 6th graders.

What about soloists and ensembles?

Soloists, ensemble members, trios, quartets, etc. are expected to be regular attendees in the worship service and the weekly rehearsals. Anyone who wishes to glorify Christ through special music can simply contact the Music Ministry for more information.
